Much speculation is in the air over Twitter’s longer than usual outage this morning. Was it the buzz over the debut of @Billgates and rumors wondering if Bill is actually tweeting? Or could it be the overwhelming response to the latest aftershock rocking Haiti? Or maybe the Fail Whales are just swimming more today. The most curious possibility definitely lies with Mr. Gates. Is Bill a Twitter Noob? I can’t imagine that he’s only just now joining the denizens using Twitter. I’m guessing it’s likely an imposter but you never know:
Hmmm! @BillGates was apparently pulling in the followers big time. So now that Twitter is back up I decided to follow. After all, who wouldn’t want to be Tweeps 4 Lyfe with Bill Gates? Curiously, that handle didn’t come up at all, though countless “fake Bills” popped up. Though I suppose any one of those Bills could be the real one. The intrigue continues! If I were Bill Gates, I’d be sitting back enjoying screwing with people’s heads, but I imagine he probably has more important things to do than crash Twitter.
