    Whenever you don't know what it is you just have to hover on the image and it will tell you what it is (tooltips), and if you click on it, it will link you to a website explaining what the holiday is. Hopefully someone has done just this and could let you know what it is, i'm thinking maybe you're right, or possibly it was some obscure artist's birthday and that was a style in which they drew or painted or something. Good luck with that.

    Did click on the image and did not led anywhere, I forgot to checkproperties of that original file, well whatever it is it was not 2010 GoogleLogo I guess.

    I've noticed the new logo as well, but it seems that Google has reverted back to the original shortly afterwards. I wonder why :

    I knew I was not the only one!
    As it appears google is testing such things by 5-10 minutes increments.

    It's back, but it appears to load in FF, but the old one loads in Safari, Opera, Chrome and IE.
