Websites To Visit When Stuck with Flu at Home

Today I am sick and can’t think straight nor am I productive and Internet is a part of my life that helps me take away my thoughts on how sick I am today. Well I was glad to find out it’s not H1N1 because I don’t have H1N1 symptoms. So I am basically stuck with regular flu and will return to my work tomorrow without infecting more of my co-workers (I hope).

So what did I do today on Internet and which sites did I visit while laying down in bed?

Netflix and Hulu – Great websites to spend few hours watching movies, documentary movies and great motivator to fall a sleep easier. For those that don’t have netflix account, I would recommend Hulu.

Laughing and than maybe cough or two isn’t that bad, to get those two together I usually head over to College Humor, great website mostly for men I would say.  If you are a gal my recommendation is CuteOverload.com just look at those funny fluffy, furry things makes me laugh and say “Awww”. And for both sex genders I would recommend YouTube and just search for banned commercials, funny, Dan Cook, funny animals, jokes or my favorite video Numa Numa Guy.

Now if you are geek like I am Google Reader is best thing that takes few hours away from your life. Subscribe to sites like MWD (wink, wink) or Slashdot, Mashable, Read Write Web there is thousands of them more that are good maybe Techmeme or Tweetmeme can help you find few hundreds of them.

Shopaholics?

Who does not like to shop when is sick? – Sites like Woot.com, SlickDeals, TechDeals or TechSpot are really good.

I also love to visit Amazon from time to time or Buy.com because they have daily/weekly deals that are just unbeatable. Downside of shopping online when sick, it makes you feel good (at least shopaholics say that) but when you check your checking and savings account few days later you get sick to your stomach right?

Good thing in America is that you still have 14 days to return stuff back :) or 90 days if you shop stuff at Walmart!

Anyways that is how I spend some of my sick days but don’t forget about social networking sites like Twitter where you can tweet every caugh  and every vomit you did and you get replies like “Ewww” or “Hope you feel better” yeah I know it’s just text right? Facebook isn’t bad either but you might want to watch out what your status updates are.

Well after posting this I already feel better!

PS: Being sick , speak 5 languages trust me English is not on my side today so if you find grammar mistakes don’t mind …thanks!
